{title: The town I loved so well}
{subtitle: Dubliners}
In my [A]memory [E]I will [D]always [A]see, the [D]town that I [A]have loved so [E]well, where our [A]school played [E]ball by the [D]grassyard [A]wall and we [D]laughed through the [A]smoke [E]and the [A]smell. Going [D]home in the [E]rain, rodding [A]up the dark lane, passed the [D]jail and [hm]down behind the [E]foutin, those were [A]happy [E]days in so [D]many [A]ways in the [D]town I [E]loved so [A]well.
In the [A]early [E]morning the [D]shirt factory [A]horned, called [D]women from [A]Craggan, the moor and the [E]bog, while the [A]men on the [E]dole played the [D]mother's [A]role, fed the [D]children and [A]than [E]trained the [A]dog. And when [D]times get [E]thought, there was [A]just about enough, but they [D]saw it [hm]through without [E]complaining, for [A]deep [E]inside was a [D]burning [A]pride, in the [D]town I [E]loved so [A]well.
There was [A]music [E]there, in the [D]dayly [A]air, like a lang[D]uage that we all [A]could [E]understand. I remem[A]ber the [E]day that I [D]earned my first [A]pay, when I [D]played in a [A]small pick[E]up [A]band. There I [D]spend my [E]youth and I [A]tell the truth, I was [D]sad to leave it [hm]all behind [E]me, for I've lear[A]ned [E]life and I've [D]found a [A]wife, in the [D]town I [E]loved so [A]well.
Now the [A]music is [E]gone, but they [D]carry [A]on, for th[D]eir spirit is [A]been brunised, ever [E]broken. They will [A]not for[E]get, but their [D]hearts are [A]set on tom[D]orrow and [A]peace [E]once [A]again. For what's [D]done is [E]done and what's [A]one is one and what's [D]lost and [hm]gone for[E]ever. I can [A]only [E]pray for a [D]bright brandnew [A]day, in the [D]town I [E]loved so [A]well.
